Easiest Way to Prepare Perfect Matar Chuda

Matar Chuda. Green peas are available in abundance in winters. The freshly harvested peas are sweet, crunchy and full of nutrients. Green peas are not only flavorful but healthy too.

Matar Chuda Chura matar is a delicious and healthy evening snack which is popular and made in many homes in Uttar Pradesh during the winters. Also known as Chura Matar, is a Banarasi twist on the usual Poha. It is a winter delicacy of the place though, when the markets are flooded with the winter produce - Green Peas/Matar. Ingredients of Matar Chuda

  1. You need of Flattened rice/poha.
  2. It's of (boiled) Green peas.
  3. Prepare of ghee.
  4. It's of Cumin seeds/jeera.
  5. It's of Ginger grated.
  6. Prepare of green chillies chopped.
  7. You need of garam masala.
  8. You need of Sugar.
  9. It's of Salt.
  10. Prepare of chopped Green coriander.

Matar Chuda step by step

  1. Transfer the flattened rice/poha to a colander and wash with plenty of water. Leave it in the colander..
  2. In the meanwhile, heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a wok/kadai, add cumin seeds let them turn light golden. Add the ginger and sauté till they also turn slightly golden. Add the green chillies..
  3. Add the peas and mix. Fluff up the poha with a fork and add it to the peas mixture..
  4. Sprinkle salt and the chura matar masala, mix well..
  5. Finally add the sugar, green coriander and 1 tbsp of melted ghee. Give it a nice toss and serve immediately with a cup of adrak wali chai..
