- Wash and soak moong dal and urad dal for 4-5 hours..

- Dip you fingers in water. Take a small portion of this batter to your fingers, then drop in the hot oil. Before sliding the bara to the oil, ensure it's hot enough. To check, drop a small portion of batter to it. The batter must rise without browning. This is the right temperature..
- Cook the bara for 2-3 minutes and then tranfer it into the hot sugar syrup..
