Recipe: Delicious Gujarati Lapsi

Gujarati Lapsi. Lapsi is a traditional and classic Gujarati sweet recipe made from coarse wheat flour and jaggery. Fada lapsi is a traditional Gujarati sweet made of cracked wheat (fada or dalia), clarified butter (ghee), sugar and flavored with cardamom powder, garnished with sliced almonds and cashews.   3. You need 1/4 cup of Ghee / Clarified butter.
  4. Prepare 6-7 of almonds.
  5. It's 1/4 teaspoon of elaichi / cardamom powder.
  6. It's As required of Cashews and raisins few.
  7. Prepare 2 cups of Water.

Gujarati Lapsi step by step

  1. Heat pan add ghee than add dry fruits,saute a minute and keep aside..
  2. In same pan add ghee when it is hot add the broken wheat and stir it for the next 4-5 minutes on a medium flame till golden brown..
  3. Now transfer the broken wheat to a cooker,add water and cook for 2 whistles and then turn the flame on low and cook for 5 minutes and switch off the flame..
  4. When cooker has cooled down the broken wheat are softly cooked.Take same pan and add the sugar,mix well and cook for the next 5 minutes, till ghee oozing out..
  5. Now add the elachi powder and ghee roasted dry fruits and top with some more ghee.
  6. Tips: Another method is adding Dry roasted wheat in pan,add little by little hot water and slowly cook. we can jaggery instead of sugar..
