Banarsi Chuda Matar step by step

  1. Wash poha and drain completely. Place the poha in a vessel and add milk. Mix well and set aside..
  2. Heat ghee in pan. Add cumin, black pepper, bay leaves ginger, green chilli and cashews. Roast it till golden brown..
  3. Now add green peasand salt saute for a minute. Cover it with lid and cook until the peas are cooked well..
  4. Add garam masala, salt and milk soaked poha. Mix it well. Place lid and cook on low flame for 5 mts. Sprinkle little water if required..
  5. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves. Serve it hot..

Its recipe is completely different from the kanda poha / batata poha that I am used to and I gave it a try. Chura matar is a delicious and healthy evening snack which is popular and made in many homes in Uttar Pradesh during the winters.
