Banarsi Chuda Matar step by step
- Wash poha and drain completely. Place the poha in a vessel and add milk. Mix well and set aside..
- Heat ghee in pan. Add cumin, black pepper, bay leaves ginger, green chilli and cashews. Roast it till golden brown..
- Now add green peasand salt saute for a minute. Cover it with lid and cook until the peas are cooked well..
- Add garam masala, salt and milk soaked poha. Mix it well. Place lid and cook on low flame for 5 mts. Sprinkle little water if required..
- Add lemon juice and coriander leaves. Serve it hot..
Its recipe is completely different from the kanda poha / batata poha that I am used to and I gave it a try. Chura matar is a delicious and healthy evening snack which is popular and made in many homes in Uttar Pradesh during the winters.
