Ingredients of Aloo Matar Curry

  1. Prepare of Boiled Aloo.
  2. It's of Matar/ Peas.
  3. Prepare of Tomatoes.
  4. Prepare of Onions.
  5. You need of Green Chillies.
  6. You need of Ginger Garlic Paste.
  7. Prepare of Jeera.
  8. Prepare of Hing.

This aloo matar gravy recipe can be served with roti or paratha or poori. This aloo matar is a simple curry made of potatoes & fresh peas in a spicy onion tomato gravy. In Indian cuisine a lot of curries are made with potatoes. This is one very simple and beginner recipe that no one can go wrong.

Aloo Matar Curry instructions

  1. Cut aloo in medium-small size pieces..
  2. Chop Onions very finely, grind tomatoes, green chillies..
  3. Ginger garlic paste finely into purée in a mixer grinder..
  4. Now take a kadhai or pan, add 1 Big Spoon Oil in it & keep the gas on medium flame..
  5. When oil gets heated up, add 1 Teaspoon Jeera & 1 Pinch Hing in it & let them sizzle..
  6. When they start sizzling, add finely chopped onions in it & cook them till they turn into golden brown in colour..
  7. After 3-4 minutes, when they turn into golden brown in colour, add 1/2 Teaspoon Haldi Powder in it & cook them for 1 minute..
  8. Now add finely grinded tomato purée in with 1 Teaspoon Salt so that they start releasing oil quickly..
  9. After 5-6, when oil is completely released, add 1 Cup Matar & spices mix in it, mix them properly & roast them for 2-3 minutes..

  11. After 2-3 minutes, add chopped aloo pieces in it & mix them properly..

  13. Now add some water with 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala, 1 Teaspoon Roasted Kasuri Methi & 1/2 Teaspoon Roasted Jeera Powder in it & mix them properly..

  15. Now cover the lid & cook them for 3-4 minutes on medium flame..
  16. After 3-4 minutes, open the lid & stir them properly..
