Raw banana kofta A brain-child of my mom-in-law, this kofta is a variant of kebabs that usually includes meat and any herbs of choice. This is a vegetarian kofta kebab using raw banana as the main ingredient and we've used mint and coriander leaves both in the kofta and in the green chutney served with it.   1. You need of raw banana.
  2. Prepare of medium size potatoes boiled.
  3. It's of matar.
  4. It's of besan.
  5. It's of cashew nuts.
  6. It's of Kashmiri mirch powder.
  7. It's of green chilli.
  8. Prepare of medium size tomato.
  9. You need of medium size onion.
  10. Prepare of ginger.
  11. You need of no Bay leaf.
  12. It's of - 3 green cardamom.
  13. It's of pieces cinnamon.
  14. It's of turmeric powder.
  15. It's of cumin powder.
  16. It's of coriander powder.
  17. It's of garam masala powder.
  18. Prepare of cream.
  19. Prepare of Salt.
  20. It's of Oil for frying.
  21. It's of Coriander leaves.

In a wide bowl add the besan, red chili powder,garam masala, finely chopped cashew nuts, cumin powder,red chili powder and salt. When the oil becomes hot, place the koftas. When the base is cooked and becomes light golden, turn over and fry the other side. Wash and dry the bananas correctly.

Raw banana kofta instructions

  1. Peel the banana skin and put in turmeric water to prevent them from getting black. Cut them into half and boil for 5 to 6 minutes in salt water. Keep them aside and allow to cool down completely..
  2. In a big bowl take the boiled bananas, boiled potato, besan, chopped green chilli, chopped onion, green peas, turmeric powder,salt coriander leaves, mash them all to make kofta dough..
  3. In a pan add oil and heat on medium flame, now make small kofta out from the banana dough. Fry them till they become golden brown. Drain the kofta on a kitchen towel and keep aside for later use..
  4. Now it's time to make kofta gravy, in a kadai put 1 tbsp oil and let it heat now put bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon and saute for a few sec..
  5. Then add chopped onion, ginger, tomatoes, cashew, Kashmiri mirch, salt and fry till tomatoes become tender, turn off the stove let the mixture to cool a bit..
  6. Transfer the mixture into a blender jar and blend to make a fine paste..
  7. In a kadai heat 1 to 2 tbsp oil add tomatoes paste into it and fry 4 to 5 minutes or till oil from masala. Now add cumin powder and coriander powder to the masala and fry for 1 minutes..
  8. Now add 1 to 1.5 cup water in to masala and let it boil for 5 minutes, add crushed kasurimethi, garam masala powder and creamy in the gravy mix well, add kofta balls and cook for 1 more minutes, switch off the stove, cover and let it rest for 5 minutes that kofta soak gravy completely, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice..
