Ingredients of Murukku

  1. Prepare 1/2 cup of Urad dal.
  2. Prepare 2.5 cups of rice flour (store bought).
  3. It's 1/4 teaspoon of Ajwain seeds.
  4. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of Sesame Seeds.
  5. You need 1 teaspoon of salt.
  6. Prepare 1 tablespoon of butter/ghee.
  7. You need 2-3 cups of water.
  8. Prepare 750 ml of Vegetable Oil / Refined Peanut Oil for deep frying.

Its a deep fried item which can be made using a Murukku Maker. Chakli is mainly made during festivals or any special occasions but the method below is the quickest way to enjoy Murukku/Chakli with hot Tea on a wet day.   4. Mix everything well and add water little by little to form a smooth ball. The dough should be smooth and there should not be any cracks in the dough.Form small logs and fill in the murukku press.. Murukku
