Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry few koftas till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and keep aside. Kela is the Hindi word for both banana or plantain and Kofta is essentially has a meatball form to it, but generally Indian dishes have mostly vegetables.
Kela Kofta instructions
- Firstly take all ingredients of kofta in a bowl and mix it well... and make 12 - 14 round dumplings..
- Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the balls, until golden brown..
- Strain them on an absorbent paper and keep aside..
- Prepare the gravy by adding the whole spices to hot oil..
- Once the whole spices splutter, add the onion and ginger-garlic paste and fry well for a minute in medium flame..
- Now add the tomato puree and fry well, until the mixture leaves oil by the side.At this stage, add the powdered spices and fry well..
- Once the spices are cooked, add the cashew paste and fry for a minute, before adding water.Simmer the gravy, covered, for about 5-10 minutes, until the desired consistency is reached..
- Pour hot gravy over the dumplings, just before serving and serve hot with a fresh cream and some sprinkling of coriander leaves..
