Ingredients of Motichoor ladoo
- It's 2 cup of Gram/besan flour.
- Prepare 1 3/4 cup of Water.
- It's 1 1/2 cup of Sugar.
- You need 3/4 cup of Water to boil sugar.
- You need 4 of Crushed cardamom.
- You need 1 slice of Lemon.
- It's drops of Orange food colouring few.
- It's of Oil to fry boonthi.
The major difference between Boondi ladoo and motichoor ladoo is the size of the tiny boondi/fried gram flour balls. Boondi ladoo has the gram flour balls bigger in size and motichoor ladoos have smaller ones. Both the ladoos are made from gram flour or besan batter. Our Motichoor Ladoo are mouth-watering cluster of tiny golden pearl beads made from gram flour and semolina in pure butter ghee (clarified butter) and garnished with pistachio powder.
Motichoor ladoo step by step
- Mix gram flour with water, add food orange colouring make into a smooth batter.
- Fry the batter using strainer. Keep fried boonthi aside. Let it cool completely..
- Grind fried boonthi into coarse texture (optional, if want smoother texture ladoo).
- Boil sugar, add lemon slice,cardamom and food colouring. Boil for 10 minutes..
- Add fried boonthi into the sugar syrup. Cover with lid. Cook for 3 minutes in low flame..
- Let it rest completely. Leave it in the same pan for 1 hour. After 1 hour add nuts/raisins/ unsalted sun flower seeds if you want to and mix well. Make into a ball shape..
